The list of tools below is organized alphabetically, and it represents a selection of the resources available to Digital Humanists. Many of these tools are actively updated, so please contact the DH@Bucknell Web Team if you find any outdated information or if you would like to suggest additional tools or software.
Bucknell University has site licenses and provides faculty, staff, and students with access to and support for a number of these tools; tools for which this is the case have “BU access” listed under pricing.
ArcGIS Online
Part of the Esri Geospatial Cloud, ArcGIS Online enables you to connect people, locations, and data using interactive maps. With ArcGIS Online, you can easily create maps, share and collaborate on your projects, and analyze your geospatial data.

Chronos Timeline
HyperStudio’s Chronos Timeline is designed specifically for needs in the humanities and social sciences to represent time-based data. Chronos allows scholars and students to dynamically present historical data in a flexible online environment. Switching easily between vertical and horizontal orientations, researchers can quickly scan large number of events, highlight and filter events based on subject matter or tags, and recontextualize historical data.

MapAList
MapAList is a wizard for creating and managing customized Google maps of address lists. MapAList pulls addresses from your Google Sheets, and when you modify addresses in Google Sheets, the map automatically updates to show the new location.

Mapbox
Mapbox is a live location platform designed to help you build apps with location data. With Mapbox, you can embed extensible, custom maps, location search, and turn by turn directions into your app. Mapbox also has an augmented reality (AR) feature that enables you to use location data to map 3D, virtual images onto the physical world.

Neatline
Neatline allows scholars, students, and curators to tell stories with maps and timelines. As a suite of add-on tools for Omeka, it opens new possibilities for hand-crafted, interactive spatial and temporal interpretation. Neatline lets you make hand-crafted, interactive stories as interpretive expressions of a single document or a whole archival or cultural heritage collection. You can import these documents (georeferenced historical maps, manuscripts, high-res photographs, etc.) from an existing collection, or create a new digital archive, yourself.
